Our Partners

Who is on our
multi-disciplinary team?

  • State’s Attorney/Prosecutors

    • The county prosecutor leads the team and has the final decision as to whether charges will be filed. Prosecution may not happen in every case.

  • Law Enforcement

    • Police investigators interview non-offending parents, suspects and other witnesses and gather evidence from the scene of the alleged event.

  • Child Protective Services (Department of Children and Family Services)

    • The role of the DCFS is to help protect children. The DCFS social workers conduct interviews with family members and develop safety plans. They may refer children and families to counseling or other support services within the community, including the CAC.

  • Medical Personnel

    • Our partner physicians come from the SSM Cardinal Glennon Children’s Medical Center and are experienced in examining children for possible abuse. Most children who have been abused have normal exams.

  • Mental Health Counselors

    • We have on-site counselors and can also provide referrals to other mental health professionals in the area.

"I couldn't ask for a better group of people who work at the CAC. The team is very caring, supportive and professional."
